A Newfound Meaning

The creation of the heavens and the earth always baffles me. Some might not consider them a creation. People who go on a journey to find themselves often find more than what they are looking for. A question in them arises, how am I here? Why am I here? Where am I going? Who made me so intricately? Intellectuals would go on a never-ending debate on how life on earth was formed, rather than giving their mind a chance to observe the Creator.

Who is the Creator?

If you ask me, I’d show you this verse in the Holy Quran:

“Allah, it is He Who has created the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them in six days. Then He rose over (istawa) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). You (mankind) have none, besides Him, as a Wali (protector or helper) or an intercessor. Will you not then remember (or receive admonition)?” [32:4]

The word Allah means God in Arabic. (I will use both ‘Allah’ and ‘God’ in my posts to refer to the Creator). Allah, The Mighty, The Majestic, to whom there are no equal nor partners. He created everything that exists. He is self-sustaining and all that is on the earth and above, belong to Him. And to Him, we all shall return.

If you look closely, everything around us is beautiful proof that a Creator exists – like the heavens and the earth for example. Aside from the beauty that nature holds, the thought of God being the reason behind it all gives a newfound meaning to life.
